I'm sorry but I don't want to be an emperor. That's not my business. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible; Jew, Gentile, black men, white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each others' happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men's souls; has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge as made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost. The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in man; cries out for universal brotherhood; for the unity of us all.

To those who can hear me, I say "Do not despair." The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.
Soldiers! Don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you; who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel! Who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder! Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men---machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have a love of humanity in your hearts! You don't hate! Only the unloved hate; the unloved and the unnatural.
Soldiers! Don't fight for slavery! Fight for liberty! In the seventeenth chapter of St. Luke, it’s written “the kingdom of God is within man”, not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people, have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy, let us use that power.
Let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill their promise. They never will! Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfill that promise! Let us fight to free the world! To do away with national barriers! To do away with greed, with hate and intolerance! Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness.

Who's Gonna Save My Soul By Chris Milk
Chris Milk es un director norteamericano de videos musicales que explota su talento dentro y fuera de la musica. Ha trabajado con U2, Kanye West, Audioslave, Arcade Fire, Gnarls Barkley entre otros.
Este trabajo fue realizado en el 2008 para Gnarls Barkley para su album "The Odd Couple". Entre la direccion de camaras, guion, efectos, performance, en fin, todo me parecio genial.

35 years Backwards
No es lo mismo mirar un punto en tu pasado, que ver el pasado sin puntos. Les presento a Sam, Sam Klemke, un caricaturista que aparte de plasmar sus creaciones en papel, nos proyecta sus ultimos 35 años de vida de una manera muy peculiar, desde momentos insipidos, hasta unos quizas intimos. Lo curioso es la manera de hacerlo. Un verdadero viaje en el tiempo, donde (si ya eres adulto) te identificaras con muchas de las modas, estilos, lugares y momentos aqui presentados.

"Historically Hardcore" By Jenny Burrows and Matt Kappler
"Historically Hardcore"fue lo que comenzó como un simple proyecto publicitario durante los días de clase para hacer un portafolio y hoy es el icono que identifica a la directora de arte Jenny Burrows y al copywriter Matt Kappler .
Dada las reacciones recibidas por amigos y compañeros sobre el trabajo el cual pensaron que era bastante creíble y al este ser expuesto vía redes sociales muchos felicitaban al Museo De Washington sin imaginar las mentes detrás de esto.
Este es otro resultado del llamado (marketing) ''viral''. Jenny incluso comenta que mientras navegaba se encontró con un tweet de alguien publico su material en el popular site REDDIT, hasta ese día solo amigos, familiares y algunos directores de recursos humanos habían leído su CV, y luego de esto las llamadas para entrevistas no paran de llegar.
Debido al uso de imágenes no autorizadas de 50Cent entre otros, han decidido no vender el arte, en cambio lo distribuyen de manera gratuita en alta resolución para quien quiera imprimirlo, incluso piden que le envíen fotos, haciendo el fenómeno mas viral, claro esta.

Hoy conocí a un genio!
Eso pense al finalizar el pasado TEDx Santo Domingo 2011, bueno lo pense dos veces, pero vamos, un genio a la vez, si?
No tiendo a publicar pensamientos/expresiones muy personales en este sitio, hasta que interactuo con personas como estas, que aun sabiendo quien era no habia vivido su carisma, su vibra, su chispa por la vida.
Les presento a: Fellé Vega
Es folklorista, percusionista, jazzista, inventor, compositor, diseñador de instrumentos y aunque no lo admita, es un GENIO! Nativo de Santiago de los Caballeros, Republica Dominicana ha sabido llevar cual embajador de la cultura dominicana, nuestras raices por diversos escenarios entre festivales de jazz, conferencias y talleres de percusion.
El creador del Boombakini (instrumento de percusion) es una maquina de talento y lo demuestra en sus presentaciones, usando elementos cotidianos, ya sea cubos, cuerdas, cepillos, globos, tanques de gas hasta un urinal! Logrando un performance impecable tal como lo hizo en el pasado TEDx Santo Domingo 2011 en el cual fue uno de los exponentes y tuvo el honor de cerrar con broche de oro dicho evento.

Crowdrise: When activism and fundraiser goes social media
''Crowdrise is about raising money for charity and having the most fun in the world while doing it.''
Crowdrise es la causa que apoya las causas. Un portal dedicado a ayudar con sus herramientas a quienes traten de conseguir fondos para diferentes causas sociales. Puedes ''crear'' tu propia causa o apoyar las ya existentes asi como ver los perfiles de los usuarios.
Apoyandose en el boom que las llamadas redes sociales han tenido en los ultimos años un grupo de figuras influyentes de Hollywood, lidereadas por el actor Edward Norton unen fuerzas en publicitar este proyecto. Teniendo como efecto que sus seguidores de involucren en las causas que estos apoyan, todo dentro de la misma red social.
Una muestra de como funciona la movilizacion de masas fue con el Maasai Marathon, el cual tenia como fin colectar fondos para ayudar a las personas en sus causas, no en una en particular, en cambio facilitandoles las herramientas para que puedan materializas sus metas ya sea vinculandolos a ONG's, medios de comunicacion, asesoria financiera, entre otros. El Resultado: 1.2Millones de Dolares recaudados en dos semanas.
